Rope Design

Usha Martin Italia works as Global Design Center (GDC) for The Usha Martin Group, assisting all group companies in the development of their specific products.

The GDC issues the design of all new ropes and fine tuning of the existing ones in order to maintain product alignment with application needs.

A special attention is given to OCEANMAX ropes, which constantly deal with challenging applications of oil and gas field and require custom design to optimize product performance. All rope designs are created by using especially developed software which calculates all the relevant geometrical, mechanical and material characteristics as well as rope cross section and side view. 

This is a powerful tool for our rope designers, which can efficiently generate precision design and manufacturing specifications, including all of the requirements in terms of breaking load, strength, wire size, axial and radial stiffness.
